Mai Yamamoto, one of the attendees at last night’s (H)API Hour for South Bay First Thursdays, sent me this information. (First Thursdays, btw, did very well last night with more than 60 people at the event and donations from the door of about $660. Thanks to Tamon Norimoto and Serena Hu from First Thursdays and Kathy at Koji Sake Lounge for having us!)
The Decathlon Club in Santa Clara will host on May 9 the First Annual WACKED Dodgeball Tournament, a corporate team-building event that will support of the youth programs provided by Generations Community Wellness (www.generationswellness.org). The event starts at 8:45 a.m.
Generations’ mission is to provide fitness and nutrition education to at-risk kids, families, and seniors in Silicon Valley. Since 2003, Generations has reached out across the ages and socio-economic status to provide quality fitness and wellness programming for other non-profit organizations lacking the expertise. This multicultural model concept has developed into a sustainable approach for reaching out to populations already being served by local non-profit organizations. Generations seeks to create systemic change in low-income children, adults, and seniors through affordable fitness & wellness opportunity, accessibility and education.
The event includes a breakfast, tournament play, barbeque lunch, award ceremony, and happy hour.
Space for the event will be limited. Registration for teams must be in by April 11 for Silver and Gold teams. Companies or organizations that sponsor the event at $5,000 will have Gold Teams status, which includes two teams of 10 participants, corporate branding on all promotional material, recognition on the day of the event, all media recognition and Appreciation Plaque, 10 spectators may attend at no additional cost. Silver Teams are $1,000 and includes one team of 10 participants.
